Senor and I have been enjoying digital and HD programming for over a year now and couldn't be more in love with it. We don't even have cable or satellite either. We watch tons of movies (DVDs and HD/BR DVDs), netflix and downloaded programs from the net. That's not to say we don't watch regular broadcasts, especially shows like Pushing Daisies and garbage like Hell's Kitchen (can't help but love it
). We have about an equal number of HD sets vs. old CRTs in the house, mainly because of older light gun games. When we had our latest TVs delivered, we asked the employees to haul off a few of our sets at the same time. Most stores offer this service for free and we unloaded 3 old sets as a result. I do feel bad for my parents because this process is confusing for them but they will be part of the lot who goes for the free converter boxes. They're not interested in buying any more TVs because they really don't need 'em.
