Okay ... tell me what I'm missing. Because if it's a new author I can sink my teeth into (not literally, of course!!), I'd be one happy Momma!

Oh Momma...if you are a fan of sinking teeth - quite literally, I mean - you will enjoy this series. Now, I warn you - this is not for the feint of heart. In addition to the whole vampire story line, there is a very strong sexual undertone. Okay...it's very sex-driven. As a matter of fact, the story is alive and kicking on film via HBO.

But it really does have a great story line. In addition, they look into alot of other fey creatures. It's quite cool how everything ties together. I'm especially excited to see how things fly in this book, as it introduces....well...I just shut my big trap here!

Yep...I'm with you, Jenn *since again you started me on another obsesseion*!!!

I sent Lisa out to buy my book this afternoon to make sure it wasn't sold out before I could get to Borders after work. I wanted to check a few things on-line, but then it's "reading time".

I have to say this is one of the few book series *besides a few manga* where I have re-read most of the books. I even signed up for HBO to watch the series, which of course has some differences in the storyline b/c I"m sure they couldn't get everything from the books on TV.

As Jenn said, there is a sexual tone to the storyline, but there's also a lot of action, suspense, interpersonal relationships, and of course, vampires and other supernatural beings. Personally, I can't wait to read it....but then I will have to wait until October for the next book in the series. Yep, that quick. It's a lot better than a year wait for another series I'm reading. :D

Hmmm ... not particularly crazy about vampires , but on your recommendation, I may give it a try. If you've ever read any of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels, you'll know what I like.

Also, Robert B. Parker, Stephen White, John Sandford and Susan Howatch, who writes a book once a decade, I think.

Well...I just finished the book - yes...I read the whole thing in about 5 hours. DAMMIT ALL!!

Now all I have to do is mop up my tears. Anyone else finished? I promise I will not lace this thread with any spoilers. I'll take it off-grid! pm me. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Plus, I need to share my grief that I must suffer until October for another installment. :l

You have me intrigued. :^^: For those of us who haven't read any of them, what's the name of the first book? I might have to add it to my summer reading list.

Okay, I added it to my Amazon wishlist. It sounds like the kind of story I can sink my teeth into. :D Sadly, the paperback isn't coming out until July. Oh well, I have other things to read first.

If you look on Amazon for the set, I think you can get the first eight books in paperback for around $30. I think that's the last update I saw from them.

DT I think you will love it. Yes, books 1-8 are out in paperback and 1-7 can be purchased in a set.

I'll check it out. Yeah, getting 7 or 8 volumes for $30 is a lot cheaper than each one separately for $8 or $10.

I was looking at this series in Meijer tonight. It looked interesting, but I picked up the 4th Odd Thomas out in paperback instead. I am a HUGE Dean Koontz fan. I can't wait for his 3rd Frankenstien coming out in July.

There are so many books I want to read I can't stand it. My Amazon.com wishlist has like 70 books on it. I usually have couple books going on at once - a couple non fiction and always, always at least one fiction. I need "escape" - I just love falling into another world for awhile.

And now you guys have me curious. Maybe this summer I will pick this series up. But I gotta say, after all the Twilight books I am a little overdone on vampires. Besides I'm a werewolf groupie. :trans
