New to the Forum

Post by ssvegito04 »

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say hi to all. I am new to the site and I am relatively new to collecting cels. I have an obsession with Dragonball Z and I am currently only looking for DBZ cels. I am very glad to have found this site as I have been having extreme difficulty in finding the cels I am interseted in, and in finding out the ways to get them (apart from ebay).

Anyway, while I have brought it up, I would love recommendations as to where to look, and how the deputy situation work. I just recently came across the SMJ site which looks promising.

Once again I am happy to have been invited to this site and I hope to deal with each of you in one way or another.

Thanks
ssvegito04

Welcome to Anime-Beta! You'll find lots of kindred souls here: the core group was all DBZ collectors until it was gradually infiltrated by Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura enthusiasts, all of whom were somewhat Gokulated by the experience. And you'll probably find yourself widening your horizons as you look at other collectors' treasure troves. The sketch contest is an enjoyable way to do this: stop by when it's opened, and you'll get a broad view of what everyone is collecting these days.

There are a couple of good deputies out there: I've used SMJ since it was in Beta-testing mode, and have been very happy with its service. But there are many Rinkya fans here who will surely point up its good qualities, and probably a few others on the block. Cels aren't as plentiful as they were ten years ago, but somehow I always find a place for the "mad money" I set aside for auctions. You might also check out Mandarake. That has an English interface and does not require a deputy service. I've seen quite a few DBZ items go up in the last weeks. It is a popular site, though, and so the items tend to go higher than on Yahoo Japan.

Anyhow, welcome to Anime-Beta and to the madness that is anime art collecting!

don't be shy, post often, it's a decent place to spend some time,
can be quite interesting at times, easy way to learn alot,
while I don't collect DBZ, Sensei is right in saying Mandarake

Welcome to the site! I was a newbie earlier in the year, and have found that everyone here is so nice and passionate about their collections. I love looking through them, even through the series I haven't watched. I'm also a huge DBZ fan too, so I really look forward to seeing what you acquire for your future collection! To find DB cels I often browse ebay and use SMJ to look through Yahoo Japan. Lot of great DBZ finds there. =) I also like to look through the "For Sale" section of this forum using keywords on the advanced search. I was able to purchase a great DBGT Final Bout PS1 game cel from a member here. ^_^ I hope you can find what you want! (Also, if you're not familiar with rubberslug.com, I'd look around there too. There's a for sale section and it has tons of amazing galleries to look through. You'll drool over some of the DBZ stuff there. Once you get a few cels you should set up an online gallery there. It's really fun. :))

Have you been to Rubberslug? Besides galleries and a market, you can find useful links at: http://www.rubberslug.com/resource/links.aspx
Most of us have galleries there, happy browsing!

I’ve recently switched from Celga to SMJ they are THE best, only huge drawback is they don’t hold your wins as long as you want like Celga :(
