Now that I've got the attention of some very angry
Inu fans

lol

I decided to create a thread where we old Ranma 1/2 fans
can talk about-- what else! Ranma 1/2!

I figure we've had enough Inuyasha jabber for a while (just look at how many related threads have been created in this forum section

)
so..
why not chat about an older Rumiko Takahashi classic

Now then, whats everyone's fav character?

Mine is definetely Shampoo, shes just sooo cute! i love her to bits!

I should have known you started this thread when I saw the comments after Ryouga-sama . . . hands down, he's my fav.

Though I must admit, I kind of hated him to begin with.

Oh no!! My dirty little secret is out!!!

Eeeh, that's how all of my favorite characters started out.

BTW, I've got a Ryouga cel sitting over at my DS . . . I'm just waiting for one more cel to come in, then they're coming home!!! Then Ryouga-sama will never leave my island!!!!

Just wavering a bit off topic... but

This is what I've been able to notice-- which might help
those Inu fans that know lil or none bout Ranma.

To me...

Ranma= Inuyasha
Akane= Kagome
Happosai= Myoga
(lol except for the part where he steals panties/bras

)
Ryouga=Kouga

some aspects of Kuno remind me of Miroku (i think its the flirtatious nature and love of anything that walks w/ 2 legs and set of boobs)

whereas some of Ukyo remind me of Sango (giant weapon, physical similarity...

)

I forgot the names of the twins from Inuyasha that wear blue and red shinto outfits but they remind me alot of Ling-Ling and Lung-Lung from Ranma 1/2.

Now that I've said that ...

I can go on to say that I actually love Ranma 1/2. It is so funny and just zany ... but the relationship between Akane and Ranma really is sweet, in its own way. I especially love the way it develops and deepens throughout the show. Plus, the incredibly funny hijinx in each episode just keep me rolling with laughter.

Sadly, I couldn't really participate in the poll, though. I don't have a "favorite" character. I pretty much love all of them equally --- although I have to admit to disliking Ryoga intensely.

OMG YES!!!! I just re-saw that again the other day and had to back it up and watch it again!

Awww, y'all know which one I vote for!!!! Ranma-kun has my heart! Some days I think I married him, and other days I think I AM him!

And you know, it took me a very long time to finally get around to watching the series because the description just did not appeal to me. At all. Really. But man, it didn't take long to sink it's hooks into me!

I need to do more fawning over Ranma!

I adore Ranma but my favorites, hands down, are the Greek chorus -- the other sisters who provide running commentary the whole way through. Nabiki is a hoot

Takahashi recycles everything from character designs to character
personalities, so there are a lot of similarities between Ranma 1/2 and
Inu Yasha as you pointed out, Shampoo.

Going slightly beyond the topic, has anyone seen Moeyo Ken? It can be
quite adequately summed up by the taglines in the ad : "From the creator
of Inu Yasha and Ranma 1/2 and the creator of Sakura Wars". Absolutely
nothing original in it...though, if you're wondering what a female version of
Sesshoumaru looks like, you might be interested.
