The Anime Tattoo
The Anime Tattoo
Yes...I got one on me now. Anyone else have a tattoo in dedication to their fav anime?
I'll take a pic of mine soon as I get my digi cam back. But, it's the NERV symbol, and it's just below my wrist on the underside of my arm. Yeah...You know what my fav anime is ^^;!

LOL...Yeah...I love my hentai...But Eva is my fav series. I'd love to get more cels, but they're rare, and very expensive. I lost out on my dream eva cel a few big mandarake auctions ago (chibi misato)...and after that...I really haven't seen anything good. The Misato cel on Y!J right now is really nice, but I can get a few real nice Eva cels for that price right now...Especially since the Misato part isn't a cel ^^!
It took my a loooong time...since I was 6...LOL...To get a tattoo...I've always wanted one, but finally got something I knew I loved and always will. I was gonna get it on the back of my neck, but then decided why get a tatt if I can't enjoy it ^_^!
It actually didn't hurt at all getting it....It hurts worse afterwards! It feels like you were burned by a searing hot pan. >.<!
I'm not worried too much about how it will change over time, and I'm OK with it. I'll get it touched up throughout my life, and probably get a few more
! You definately shouldn't get a tattoo if you're not comfortable with it being on your bod in the first place. It's different for everyone, but once you get one...You'll probably want more ^^;;;!

Hmm... I wish there was a "Maybe" option. ^_^;;
A buddy of mine does anime art, and a buddy of hers had a tattoo of it done. It came out horrible... and thats putting it nicely. As my buddy said... "It looked like someone threw acid on the girl's (character's) face and was tattooed to my friend's back." You have to be careful and know that the tattoo artist you're going to is skilled with anime/animation-style drawing... even if its a direct tracing.
I have 1 tattoo... of a fae-serpent dragon. It came out nice. As for me personally getting an anime tattoo, I don't think I would. If I had to, I would get the Papillon Rose logo done, times 3. One violet, one jade, one light blue... For Papillons Violet, Dahlia, and Lily.
And I'd have them all interlinked.

My next tattoo will most likely be anime related, but I am still pondering it. I've been pondering it for the past four years! But that is a good thing. All of my tattoos have been years in the making. The only whim that I made was with my belt. It was supposed to be a cluster of sweet peas on my lower abdomen. My tattoo artist really was keen on a belt, but I was not too certain about it. He asked me to wait so that he could draw it out. When I saw it, I knew it was perfect!
I sat for close to 8 hours getting the outline done. That was...hmmmm....2 years ago! I've yet to get it filled in. I'm working up to it! I have gotten yet another in the meantime. I've sworn that I will get no more until I fill the big one in. Even if it's just shading work. We'll see if I ever make it in for the remaining 10-12 hours of work!

I would never get an anime tattoo. Tastes change and to me that is one that would be likely be regretted 40 years down the line. I have two tattoos, one I got about 15 years ago, and one I got about 7 years ago. While I do still love them, in all honesty if I could make them vanish I probably would. Of course, I'd probably put something back down where they are right away, but never anything anime related.
I always tell people to try and pick timeless designs. Don't base it off a music group, movie/tv, character, expression, or anything else along those lines. Those are always the ones people end up regretting the most.
