After the movie was over, I turned to my lil sis and said, "MMM, Porco Rosso." She gave me this weird look and said, "That's gross." :crazy 'Course, I followed it up with "MMM, Porco Rosso on a bun. So that's where they got those huge slabs of bacon in Howl's." :rollin Sorry piggy, you just can't compete with Hunky . . . err . . . Howl.
Whisper of the Heart is nice to watch after seeing Hauru no Ugoku Shiro (Howl's Moving Castle). Both movies warm the heart

HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE!!!!!

(Have I mentioned my obsession/addiction?) :D

Yeah ... so, the last movies I watched were:

Howl's Moving Castle and Howl's Moving Castle (saw it twice so far)
Batman Begins

Anime:
Howl's Moving Castle (which I listed again 'cuz I'm addicted)
:D :bny
Devil Lady (up to disc 5 now)
Samurai Champloo (first disc only)
Zetsuai & Bronze
Kiki's Delivery Service

Hmmmm ... and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I just have that "I left something out" feeling. So, to be safe, I'll just list Howl's Moving Castle again. /gg

TV:
Dora the Explorer (I have a not-quite-2 year old daughter)
Sesame Street (see explanation above)
Law & Order
Starsky & Hutch (can't explain this one ... I just luv this show)

And, I think that's it ... Oh, but here's the dancing bunny again ---> :bny

*yes, I know ... everyone is going to be really glad when I'm bored with the :bny emoticon!*

Last night, by the time I turned on the TV there wasn't anything much on. I ended up turning on PBSK and watching an old episode of Mr. Rogers. Bob Trow was painting Mr. and Mrs. McFeely's portraits, and in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe King Friday was having his picture painted by Robert Troll, and he sent Lady Aberlin to get other people in the Neigborhood to make something artistic in his honor.

Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.

Mahou Sensei Negima 26 (decent - 5.6):

I thought the ending was alright. I thought it was a bit corny, but I guess that's in keeping to the spirit of the show. After seeing the last episode I began to wonder if they had planned this ending from the very beginning. The way things broke so far off from the manga (and broke off so suddenly at the end) people were talking as though the way it was going was designed by the second series producer who took over in episode 18 (I think). But based off something that happened in this episode it could have easily been designed that way from the very start. If you see it you'll know what I'm talking about.

It was an emotional ending, but not something that came close to making me spring forth water from my eye if you know what I mean. :bawl So if I were to rate this ending I would say "acceptable". If I were to rate the entire series I would say it was "okay". Some parts were definitely better than others. I think the episodes where Evangeline and Konoka had major parts tended to be among the episodes I liked best. Nodoka episodes were alright too, but her shyness thing got to be a bit of old hat after it had gone on for so long.

Speed Grapher 10 (decent - 5.5):

This was a more interesting episode than the past few were. We got more plot development here. Unfortunately it also came at a great cost. Our intrepid hero isn't doing to well at this point. The person he was with there at the end is kinda nutty to say the least. What will happen in the next episode?

Who knows? 8O

Since Wednesday:

Eien no Aseria OVA 1 (okay - 5.2):
The people that have been posting saying the animation in this looks like bad "hentai" have obviously not watched very many badly animated "hentai". But I understand what they mean. For an OVA I didn't think this was well animated. It was disappointing considering the expectations I had on this hearing people talk about the game.

Hyakki 1-2 (okay - 5.2):
I had already seen episode 3 a long time ago. Bombed out island with weird stuff going on. Nothing noteworthy in it.

Angelium 1-2 (decent - 5.3):
I thought this was actually kinda funny for a "hentai" anime. It was fairly well animated too. I kind of liked this.

Amaenai de yo! 1 (okay/fair - 5.0):
I didn't get too much into this training monk harem anime (six girls and one guy). I guess with this type of anime it really comes down to how amusing you find it and how much you like the characters. I didn't find it very amusing to be honest. None of the girls seemed to stand out for me. At this point I'm leaning toward not watching any more of this.

DaCapo ~ Second Graduation 1 (okay/decent - 5.3):
The character designs are different from the first season and that will take getting used to. I don't expect to like this series a lot until near the end (just like the first series = two-thirds fluffy then one-third drama). Thank goodness there's no omake at the end.

Okusama wa Joshi Kousei 1 (okay/decent - 5.3):

I guess this was based off an ecchi manga that was the basis for the Roommate Asami game series. Ayako Kawasumi's character is living with her teacher. I'm not sure why. She dotes on him all the time. From the way she was acting I was sort of reminded of her role of Aoi in Ai Yori Aoshi. I'll watch more of this.

Okusama wa Mahou Shoujo (okay/decent - 5.3):

I thought the first episode did a good job at setting up the premise of the series. I can already see where the future conflicts will pop up. I'm glad Kikuko Inoue's character is not annoying to me as her Onegai Teacher Mizuho was. I'll be watching more of this.

PaniPoni Dash! (mediocre - 4.2):

I just can't get into this show. It reminds me of a crazy weird version of Sensei no Ojikan. Not my type of humor.

Moeyo Ken TV ep. 1 (mediocre - 4.0):

Can't get into this show either.

Bleach 39 (fairly good - 6.2):

I thought it was definitely good, although that break in the middle took away some from the ongoing suspense of what was happening. It was too dialog driven for me to understand much of it without seeing it subbed though. :( There's a new closing song. I'm going to miss the old closing. The new closing song is called "Happy People". Could you ever picture Byakuya being Happy? 8O

Gun X Sword (okay/decent - 5.3):

The main guy reminded me very much of Spike which is good. On the downside I didn't care for the over-the-top Trigun type villain that was there. Those kind of villains turn me off. But the animation was nice. I can see why this got picked up so soon. And I'm sure a lot of people will like this series. It's just not quite my type of show. :(

ACK!!!! Where are y'all finding ep. 39?????? Someone link me?

And I just finished watching AIR. Never watched an anime based on a game so I thought I'd give it a go. I have to say. . . I think it might have been the most depressing anime EVA. Ack! It was OKAY. Not going to go-down as one of my favorites but I didn't mind watching it.

WARNING !!!
A friend gave me the Starship Troopers 2 dvd. If you insist of throwing away 90 minutes of your life, try this one.
So after 40 minutes of amateur theatre and cgi, I quickly popped in Mr. Verhoeven's masterpiece Starship Troopers instead.
