My highest bid was for a certain Hotohori. I can't remember the exact amount I bid, but it was a lot, and I won.

Edit: I totally blocked out my loss a couple months ago. X| Over 2000, and I never felt more relieved when I got outbid. At least I know where it went. :friends:

No, I lost my highest bid, thank goodness!

It was for a Duo cel (no really?). I bid $2,000 and got creamed. I think he went for around $3,500. I made up for it by buying 4 other cels that I love just as much if not more. And to boot, I spent less. :P :^^:

I highest bid ever is quite a lot under most other collectors highest, but I still lost.

Any one recall that lovely Fruits Basket set with Yuki in the dress and Momiji on his shoulders? It has seems to have dropped of the face of the planet now so I can't even visit. :(

I gave it my best, but had I gone any higher and won, I might not have had a happy feeling when I looked at it.

I lost my highest bid. I won't say how much it was for though  Oddly enough, I was able to buy the cel from the winner later on.

EDIT: Oops I forgot. Once I bid about $1K higher than the first cel (mentioned above). Fortunately, the ending price never came close and it ended up costing less than the first cel.

Wow, I'm poorer than a mouse compared to most of you guys 8O If a cel costs more than $50 I really have to think about it.

Anyway, I once won a Pokemon cel for about $70 at the last second. Usually, though, if I see bidding is going to get high and my chances are low, I stay out and simply watch what happens. I guess I'm a bidding wimp :P Or maybe Japanese collectors are simply INSANE!

Don't worry sugarcels the most I've ever bid was $300 on my Priss cel, which in comparison to the sums being bandied about here is still small fry in comparison. That said I do lose about 60% of the things I bid on mainly because I get outpriced more then out manovered as it were. :hurt:

The highest I ever bid was around $600. Lost that. Won a sketch set for around $400, but I only had to pay half of that, because I was splitting it with someone. Plus, I ended up with a lot of sketches, which turned out to be about $20 a piece or so.

The highest I've bid and lost was about $300 on an opening cel of Leorio from HxH. To date, the most I've spent on a single piece of artwork is $150.

I know where it is. But since it's not displayed, I don't know if the owner wants people to know they have it. :?

/heh very fitting for the content!

Don't worry; you're definitely not alone! I don't think I'll ever play the "big leagues"-- unless I finally hit the Megabucks.
:rollin ~like that'll ever happen.

The highest bid I've ever put on a cel and would have continued bidding on without care is my Shido:
http://okunichan.rubberslug.com/gallery ... mID=168870
Even though it's probably low compared to most other people's cels. (About $160)
Most the time, I stay under $100, unless it's something I really want. Then-anything more than $100- I start to nickel and dime ($15, $20) until I feel it's too much or I get high bidder.

I did once consider shelling out $500 for a Brolli cel, but knew I couldn't afford it. Yeah- I decided to pay my rent instead. XP

Highest bid was ~110000 yen on THIS Sailor Neptune/Uranus A1 End cel and I didn't win (was the underbidder by ~100 yen). I would have bid more too, but I hit my limit on SMJ and couldn't raise it in time. Still looking for that cel...
