X| I"M SO LOOOOOSSTTTT! I've only seen the first tv series, and you guys have definitely left me in the dust! I'm getting a lovely package containing said continuations of the original WK, so I'm hoping all my questions will be answered soon! :)

Duotrouble: I haven't seen the music videos. What are they like? I agree, they should have released Verbrechen/Strafe before Gluhen. I wonder why they did it that way ... I do hope they will release them after Gluhen is done. There might be a decent chance, from a sales perspective ... since the WK fanbase is so strong ... so, I guess we can only keep our fingers crossed for now.

Shelllie: Hmmm .... don't expect too many questions to be answered at the end of Gluhen. After all, this is Weiss ... so expect the unexpected and the plot riddled with holes and lack of explanation. But, the boys are still pretty. :D

:D heehee! Amazing how randomly inserted pretty boys makes up for those plot holes!! ;)

Maybe my problem with being lost in WK is that my brain thinks in English, I try to strain to make sense of this Japanese anime, but they completely throw me into the trash by using GERMAN in this one!!! :x How's a mono-lingual gal supposed to cope??? :) haha!

Amen to that, sister! /no1

I think the German twist might have a bit to do with it. Truthfully, I thought the whole German thing --- with all the German names, etc ... --- was a bit strange. I never have figured out exactly why they did it that way ... other than Koyasu (hope I spelled his name right ... I'm in the midst of a fic at the moment, so am not thinking clearly about anything but the story ...) thought it was "neat" --- much like the bad fashion sense and unfortunate costuming choices the boys constantly make. But, that might not be the whole reason, either ... honestly, the plot for WK is convoluted, and, at times, nearly non-existent. Sometimes, it helps to suspend reality and just "go with the flow" ... heh, heh. But, if it helps at all, I felt totally confused when I first figured out how vast the Weiss universe was. I mean, I just thought it was this rather cheesy (yet oddly popular) anime series ... and, then, when I started surfing the 'Net ... I find CD dramas ... doujinshi ... fanfics ... music videos ... OAV ... I mean ... there doesn't seem to be any end to it.

Oh ... and, regarding Gluhen ... I'm not sure if anyone warned you about this or not (no ... no spoilers, so don't worry) ... it will seem rather confusing in the beginning, because Yohji and Ken don't show up right away. But, have faith (and patience) ... they'll be along before the end. To me, Gluhen didn't really feel like "Weiss" until they showed up. From what I remember on the fansubs, their absence wasn't ever really explained, either ... irritating ... but quite typical for Weiss.

No Yohji? No Ken? No explanation?? SHEESH! And I thought they got gypped for screen time on the first series! :) Poor guys! Thanks for the warning, Texy!

If you like the WK music, I recommend this DVD. I got mine off ebay a couple of years ago. There are no subtitles anywhere but you get clean versions of the opening and closing credits as well as some videos I'd never seen before. But mostly they're made of clips from the shows both OVAs included. Seeing Omi in a . . . well . . . poised like I've never seen him before hooked me into getting it. (Sorry, you must view Strafe before I'll answer that question.)

I didn't like the fact Ken and Yohji didn't show up for the first few episodes of Gluhen either. And there wasn't much of Omi. It was some new guy and a totally different Aya. (Talk about a personally change!)

I liked Ken in the tv series but in Gluhen . . . :drool :drool :drool I have a Gluhen picture of him and another one of Omi right above my computer. *sigh*

I do like the WK music ... so I'm definitely going to have to look around for that DVD.

Yes, I found the lack of Yohji and Ken in the beginning of Gluhen to be quite ... jarring. It didn't seem like I was even watching Weiss, especially considering the character design changes. I wasn't too fond of what they did with Omi, either --- didn't like the design change or the destiny Gluhen gave him. Aya was a bit ... hmmm ... nicer ... LOL. Once or twice, he almost showed he cared ... ha, ha. Of course, since I love him, my theory is that, deep down, he always cared ... he just didn't show it. (Kinda like Sanzo in Saiyuki, personality-wise) So, I agree --- the Aya personality change was a little confusing, too. But ... that long hair more than made up for it. In fact ... I really wouldn't have cared if the show had consisted of nothing more than Aya, with the long hair, on the screen. I would have still watched it. Yeah ... I'm pathetic.

I also agree that Ken was much, much more drool-worthy in Gluhen. I still wasn't wild about his personality, though ... but, they did a great job of making him seem a bit more grown up than they had made him in the first series. But ... that's just my thought on it, for what it's worth ... which, admittedly, isn't much ... heh, heh. Probalby waaaay less than two cents, even.

That's cool, tex-chan! You can drool over Aya in Gluhen and I'll take Ken. :sweatdrop

Anyway, shellie, here's what Verbrechen/Strafe looks like/is about.

And tex-chan, for you, the music DVD. OK! I can't find it right now. Does this mean I'm going to have to scan my copy so you can see it? :?

Nah ... I won't torture you with extra scanning duty. :D I'll just keep an eye out for it on ebay ... maybe I'll recognize it by process of elimination when I see it ... meaning ... it's not the TV show, it's not gluhen, it's not the OAV ...so it must be the music video.

They look about the same to me -- except Omi has shorter shorts on! :) And now I know for certain, it's just the German words thrown in there that have me thrown!

OK! I'm busted! I didn't realize Omi had shorter shorts on. :drool I like me some Omi from the first OVA and tv series. :dlook Oh and I like Ken everywhere. :dgrin

*calms self*

Yeah, I don't have the pretty case for my copy of Verbrechen/Strafe. But if it ever gets released over here, then I will. Try not to get too confused shellie. They're not supposed to look any different in V/S from the tv series. It's only Gluhen that they changed the character design.

I wish they'd animate the dramatic CD series. :hurt:

And why not so off Aya and Yohji too. I don't own them but I thought y'all would like to see.

The absence of Yohji and Ken does get explained.
They were on a same mission as Aya, Sena and Kyo but on a different academy.

A school similar to the school where Aya does his sensei thing (hmmm...I kinda like the sound of that :P ) but located elsewhere. They get transferred to it after Yohji's fun during ep 5  (or was it 7?)

Great info, Uende! Thanks for setting me straight ... this is what I get for watching "bad" fansubs --- LOL! I'm hoping, with the US-released version, some of my questions will be answered, too. See, Shellie ... you're not the only one who's confused! :)

For some reason I can't quite fathom.. (oooh.. I love using that word..."fathom"), German seems to be quite popular in Anime.
Could be because it's cool and adds some drama.
Wouldn't you prefer to hear about " PROJEKT KOFFERRAUMDECKEL !!!! " rather than " project trunk lid " ? :)

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?
