Pardons for bumping up such an old post, but I thought I would just like to chime in again to say I received the 12th WoT book, The Gathering Storm, for Christmas. While the book has been out for over 2 months now, thank the Light that Brandon Sanderson has stepped in to complete Jordan's brilliant work. I just finished it -yes, could not put it down! - and I am really excited to see how the last two finish up. My husband even went to get my book signed by Brandon. How sweet!
So has anyone here also read TGS? What are your thoughts?

I got it for Christmas too, but decided to start again from the beginning of the series since it's been so long. Give me a couple months, and then I can comment on it. :P I'm just happy to have more despite Jordan's passing.

Yeah, I think I'm going to start over again as well, just because I can't remember most of the characters that were mentioned in TGS. That will also give me something to do until Towers of Midnight is released.

I really recommed reading Brandon Sanderson's other books as well, such as the stand-alone novel Elantris, or the trilogy of Mistborn. I've been reading his work for a few years now, and was really excited when they announced he would be taking over for Robert Jordan.

I've had The Gathering Storm since launch date (got it numbered within the first 500 sold and signed), but haven't had time to read it yet. XD I'll probably be doing the same as you guys and just start over from the beginning.
