Your names on threads
Do you guys care if people type your names on threads?
At times i want to put the person's name but then i think, maybe they dont want other people to know their names.
For me, i dont care if they type my name on threads. Beta's a friendly community.

Since my screen name is my name, I guess it's pretty obvious what my answer is!
And I type just like I talk in real life in that I rarely call anyone by their real name... I invent one myself! Here on beta, to me your nicknames have nicknames! HA! So half of you guys have some weird hybrid name that I use for my own personal enjoyment when I speak to you. (If that bugs you, please let me know, cuz that's just my own weird way.

I think I've only mentioned my name twice on the internet. I generally don't mind as long as it's not slander.

Duuuuh.
Nope, I think it would be easy enough to figure out even if half of you didn't call me by name anyway. It's not as though there is any REAL privacy in the world anymore anyway; anyone with a few working brain cels could find out all sorts of stuff about us with a few searches. So... no biggie.
Besides, Enid is such a fun name, don't you think?

I personally think it's cool when someone ocassionally uses your real name. When I talk to people via pms, I always sign with my real name. If they choose to use it later in a thread, that's fine. I love my name.
But then again, I also love my username here.
I've noticed the longer the username, the more likely it will be shortened. I don't shorten people's usernames unless I talk with them frequently. I kinda feel like it's the difference between saying someone's last name vs their first name-chan.
Besides, I think it's totally adorable being called Duo, DT and of course duotrouble.

I count myself in this group but not just by you.shellie wrote:And I type just like I talk in real life in that I rarely call anyone by their real name... I invent one myself! Here on beta, to me your nicknames have nicknames!

Every single time?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
