Forgiveness?

Post by Not Sir Phobos »

I can understand what these people did. I forgive them but I hope they can forgive themselves.

At this time I think this is tabloid journalism at it's worst.

This "report" has been an internet rumor just like the reports of canibalism that were proven untrue.

If true it would be very sad but till it's proven true I will take it with a grain of salt.

Hoax or not I just hope, if I'm ever in the position of those patients, that there are doctors around with the courage to do the same thing for me.

Wow, that really sucks. Its a hard thing to see patients like that and its a harder thing to have to end their lives...

It is fake, and I'm surprised anyone would think otherwise. It was initially reported in the Daily Mirror, a tabloid scandal rag in the UK. Hence the reason it is only showing up on the Daily Mail, Internet Free Press, and Daily Mirror websites.

Yeah... first thing I do when I see something like this is look at the source. (Which, given that I'm a librarian, is something I'd better bloody well do, since that's like Rule #1 in the trade...) But it's not a source I recognize, and the typography of it is... suspicious. (Nobody publishes e-journals that look that plain anymore).

Additionally, I can't imagine any health care worker with a working brain would believe they could get away with such a thing. Autopsies WILL be done. That's the other reason I don't believe this article.

I'd be willing to bet that someone read the story about the authorities finding the 46 old people who died from overheating (if you're frail and ill, 106 degrees is not a happy place to be) and ran with it.

No need to apologize, it would certainly be worth a bit of righteous indignation (at the very least!!) if it was real!!

Just shows you care, that's all! :D

This is an interesting point. ARE autopsies being done? They couldn't possibly autopsy everyone and a large majority of the bodies have been left lying in the street or houses for DAYS if not weeks.

Or the 30-something seniors left in a nursing home alone to drown when the staff ran off. :x

LOL, sorry for the OT moment :D We love you NSP!

Well, that's a good question, and I don't know for sure. I would assume, though, that anyone whose relative it was left behind would want to make darn sure that the death was from natural causes, and not some well-meaning but ill-advised action like the one in the original post.

I should know better than to assume squat :P
