What Halloween Movies Do You Watch?

Post by toonybabe »

I'm the kind of person that really gets into holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. When I was growing up my sister and I would have certain movies and cartoons that we would always watch during Halloween. My mom had a lot of them taped onto videocassettes, and the others we caught as specials on TV. I remember back then Disney channel had a really cool Halloween program every year with a talking pumpkin as the host, and Nickelodeon had Snick-at-Night. Since we've gotten older our list of movies to watch has gotten longer and with the college workload its getting harder to fit it all in before Halloween night.

I started this thread to ask all of you if there is anything you watch in particular that gets you in the Halloween mood. Heres my list:

Disney's Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Halloween Night is Grinch Night (AKA Grinch Night)
The Great Bear Scare
Witches Night Out
The Worst Witch
Hocus Pocus
Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers
Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf
Transylvania 6-5000
Halloween Town
Nightmare Before Christmas
Michael Jackson's Thriller music video

We also watch scary movies on tv too!

Yeah, as a kid I also watched the Charlie Brown Pumpkin movie.

No real traditions now. My husband has been watching the "Halloween" series of movies all day. :l They're kind of creepy for me, lol.

My preference are the Scooby Doo movies. Any of them. Scooby Rocks! :P And I LOVE the "Halloweentown" movies!

But, the only thing I really watched today was "The Ring", and "Constantine". No real Halloween themed things I guess. :hurt:

My faves as a kid were...

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Disney's Sleepy Hollow

I also loved Elvira's Halloween horror movie cavalcade. She has some massive, uh, hits to watch every Halloween.

My favorite horror movies as a kid were...

Funhouse
Death Car on the Freeway
Halloween
A Nightmare on Elm Street
My Bloody Valentine

So many memories. So many candy induced nightmares. This year, some friends and I are handing out candy and watching The Strangers. Good flick, check it out.
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.

I love Halloween! 8)

As a kid, I always watched:

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

As an adult, I watch:

Halloween
Sleepy Hollow (Johnny Depp's version)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (Johnny Depp)
From Hell (once again Johnny Depp :P )
Psycho
Clue
The Private Eyes

I know the last two seem weird but hey. I live alone so I can't scare myself too bad.
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

Up until I was about 10 or so I only watched

Disney's Sleepy Hollow
Its the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Garfield's Halloween Adventure

Then I'd watch the cartoons if I caught them, and I'd go on to Watch the Halloween series.

Since I moved out on my own I've bought a new movie for watching on Halloween each year... one year it was the original Halloween, next Blair Witch Project... last year I bought Critters! Haha, that movie is funny. I have no idea what it will be this year, if any. I may just watch one of the Horror flicks I already have, since I love horror movies. ^_^

Most slasher/gore-fest films bore me silly, but I do get pretty creeped out every Halloween by one or more of these:

Alien
Aliens
The Silence of the Lambs
The Shining
Jaws
Seven
The Omen (1976 version)

I also watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with my daughter, which is fun because my parents watched it with me when I was little. :)

"Hi, my name is aethel, and I have a movie problem..."

I probably watch the Nightmare Before Christmas 10 times a year, between Jan. and October. And another ten between October and December.

I recently bought the new deluxe edition that came out, even though I never buy copies of something I already have. But even if I didn't need the special features, I figure eventually I will wear my original copy out!

this picture is the actual costume used. Looks alright to me. I personally have been waiting for this movie to come out because it looks like it might be interesting. It's being released the day of Halloween in a few formats including ipod and windows media H-D

I don't really have any set horror movies I watch on Halloween. :? Probably because I watch horror movies all year round. :D I love scary movies...especially funny ones. I recommend these if you haven't viewed them already:

Otis-Twas fantastic.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari- first horror movie ever. And HILARIOUS!
13:Game of Death-Disturbing to say the least.
Killer Clowns from Outer Space-Title kinda explains it all in this one.
28 Days Later- Sweet zombie flick.
Dead and Breakfast- mystery slasher of sorts.
Evil Dead- Classic
Zombie Honeymoon- Stand by your man!
Scream-awesome slasher
Murder Party-Its not a second degree assault party!
Inside-A french horror slasher like film. Very awesome.

SAW____ Its totally sick and just really demented but for some odd reason we watch it. Our favorite parts are the new traps the creators come up with. Everything in Saw is really creative
