Wanted: Sailor Saturn (Sailormoon) and her various forms

Hello everyone!

It's a longshot, but I'm itching to add to my collection. I collect only Tomoe Hotaru/Sailor Saturn (Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon) and her various forms. My wishlist is here (yes, I have big dreams XD;; ), and it also includes some PokÃ©mon cels/sketches/etc, but the PokÃ©mon I'm looking for would be even rarer than Saturn stuff would be.

I also saw recently a Super Sailor Saturn headshot cel that had some paint loss on her face on Yahoo Japan, that I wanted quite badly, but I'm not sure if it sold since when I checked after the listing ended (the starting price alone was over my SMJ bidding limit), it only lead to a login prompt page. If it did sold, I'd love to know if anyone here won it.

Anyway, if you have any Hotaru/Saturn/Mistress 9/Messiah of Silence cels to sell or know where I can buy one, please let me know. :3 My price range at the moment is around $340. (Yes, I need more money. XD)

The only Hotaru cel I know that's available is the one in the rubberslug shop. But you probably already saw that one.

Hello! I don't think I have seen any cels of her so far, if I do I shall tell you ^_^

p.s-Eventually you will add other series to your wishlist, believe me, thats how it all starts, then you collect from a bunch of series XD

If you're looking for Saturn cels, you'll need to save a bit more for them. Nice cels of Sailor Saturn are always very expensive. Those of just Hotaru tend to be more reasonable, though. A sketch of Sailor Saturn from her first appearance recently sold on YJ for $600 in March, so, that might be a good indicator of what the market is like for artwork of that particular character.

@Penguinton: Yes, I saw that one. XD It's too expensive for me right now, though, I'd rather spend that amount towards a Saturn or Hotaru with the Saturn sign on her forehead. I am keeping it in mind though!

@moonrabitt: Oh I don't doubt it. XD But I collect other things besides cels (merchandise from Sailormoon and PokÃ©mon), so I can only really focus on Saturn, since she's a very expensive character.

@cutiebunny: Oh yes, I'm very well aware of how expensive and sought Saturn herself is. I saw that sketch, too, it was from the pan cel, so I can really see why it went so high. I'm more than willing though to work hard towards saving up for Saturn, and while all I can afford now is Hotaru (unless by some miracle the Stars Saturn headshot with background pops back up on YJ for 35,000 yen and my limit is raised by then), I know that I'm currently a newbie and simply can't afford the really good stuff yet. I'm very excited though for the future when I can perhaps cross some dream cels off my list. ^^

I've seen cels of Saturn in her original outfit go for over 2k before... she isn't an easy character to collect.

@Xelloss: You've seen cels of her in her original outfit, period? I heard a rumor that the main animator kept all, or a lot of the cels of Saturn from S. I'm glad to hear that there are cels of her in her original outfit out there, but I admit, hearing that they've gone for 2k is a bit intimidating, especially to a newbie, to say the least. I certainly won't give up, though, part of the fun of collecting anything is the challenge, and I have really personal reasons for liking the character so much in the first place; certainly not because she's a popular character. It wouldn't be worth it to me to invest so much in a character for anything but that reason.

Either way, cels of her in her S outfit must be incredibly scarce, as well, I don't think I've ever seen one, and I've been eyeing cels on and off since 2005 or so. I'd be curious if anyone had any pictures of any saved somewhere, I'd love to see. And perhaps a good idea for me would be to start setting aside some money each month for a dream Saturn cel.

I've seen both cels of Saturn and Hotaru with the Saturn mark on her head in people's galleries, but not seen how much they go for exactly... apart from that some cels of Saturn/Hotaru are really pricey, period. Those forehead mark ones are very pretty, though ^^.

I have one Hotaru cel... I really love it and wouldn't sell it. Due to some of the prices I feel happy that I at least got one I really like without having to go 'over the edge' lol.

I like your gallery so far and I really like your Saturn site too! Good luck ^^. (Setting some money aside for a dream sounds like a plan!)

Yes, more than one. I've been following for about 10 years, though. I've seen most sequences from Stars of her in her original outfit, and they were really nicely shaded. I've seen sketches and I think a couple smaller shots of her from the third season... but 5th in 3rd outfit has been more common. There have also been a couple game cels in 3rd season outfit.

Hotaru is (I think) the most expensive character to collect.....

cels go for like $400 into the 1k's.....Mainly because those cels are very hard to find, But I guess it makes it more special when you find them

If you go to Anime Expo 09' you may be able to find a Hotaru/Saturn cel from the dealers that gather there

To my knowledge, there were three commercials in which she appeared.

The first was a long 7 minute advertisement for the Playstation SuperS game. The premise is that the Outer Senshi forewarn Sailormoon, Chibimoon & the Inners about the challenges that are to come and ask them if they think they can handle each. ...Sorry, I can no longer find the commercial. For quite a while, it was on Youtube, but I don't see there now...

The second was from a 30 second ad for the SuperS Famicom game that aired during the SuperS and Sailorstars season. Each of the girls fly towards the viewer during the commercial.

The third and final appearance of Saturn in a commercial is from the Sailorstars Apple Shoes commercial.

The last two commercials can be viewed on Nico, but you have to be a registered user of Nico in order to view them.

@Sylia: I agree, I really love the cels from those sequence, those are the Hotaru cels I'm after the most. I always get so envious whenever I see one.

@Xelloss: Yeah, it would make sense that Saturn from the sequence of giving young Hotaru back her memories would be more common than Saturn in S. Stars Saturns are much more common (if you can call it common), probably since she appeared in more than one scene. XD

@moonrabitt: Oh man, I wish I could go. XD But I only go to Sakuracon, which funnily enough is where I bought my very first cel this year.

@cutiebunny: Oh wow, thank you so much for that information! I had no idea before how many commercials Saturn appeared in, I mostly only knew of the SuperS game. I'll have to see these commercials for myself!
