Help for a teacher?

Hi guys!
We have a forum in my school district (kinda similar to this) and a librarian from another school was asking for some Japanese things... does anyone know where to get anything on her list that can help her?

here's her letter to our forum...

Looking for mangas, practice books in Japanese and English with focus on hiragana and katakama, and kanji. Bilingual text is first choice, however will take Japanese only and it's understood that this is all school appropriate (ok to have in a school setting ages - high school being the oldest they can have). Looking for online stores, resources, podcasts, etc. I'd like to know where to purchase such things, I've been looking regularly on e-bay. Has anyone heard of Japanese e-books or audio books? Video too.

There's a book called "Breaking into Japanese Literature" that is an excellent bilingual reader featuring some of the most famous Japanese authors in the world. Looks like there are quite a few works along these lines if you search Amazon for this title. Another thing she should look at is the Kodansha bilingual manga series - I know they've done Princess Knight, Kindaichi, and Cardcaptor Sakura among others. They've also got some bilingual childrens stories like momotaro and Kaguyahime. Search Amazon for "Kodansha Bilingual" and see what comes up.

edit: Also, never forget Mangajin. You can look for back issues, and there is an online version I think (can't get to it from work though)

They have bilingual card captor sakura manga... has Hirigana and english... I think. I have a copy at home. Here is a example:

Oh, and the prices of a lot of the out of print Kodansha Bilingual stuff (like the Cardcaptor manga referenced above) seem really high - probably because they weren't officially released in the US. She should see if they're available directly from Amazon Japan (www.amazon.co.jp) - for the out of print ones, I wonder if SMJ or one of the other deputies can buy from Amazon jp sellers?

yeah I bought mine from a con years ago. ive seen them for fairly cheap on YJ. You just gotta use a deputy. @_@

You can look in second hand book stores....
One is around me....it has nice books for $1...and it has a few japanese ones...I even bought one and it's teaching me japanese

This is a store that was in Boston for a long time before starting up online sales that allowed it to move out of the main city. Most of the Japanese language ANYTHING that I own came from Sasuga, and the store personnel were always fantastic about helping you find what you need. (I wish the store itself were still a storefront open to the public, but they're 100% online only since their move to Waltham.) They have a VERY VERY LARGE manga selection and they show up frequently as a vendor at Anime Boston. I believe they still do special orders from Japan as well.

I believe there is an organization called the Hiragana Times that publishes online as well as in hard copy a periodic circular that is in both Japanese and English. I've seen a copies in my local Kinokuniya hon-ya. They also have a website:
