Cel & Sketch Powerpoint Presentations

Post by ReiTheJelly »

At least 15 people have asked me for the cel & sketch presentations from Katsucon.

The cel presentation was made by ReiTheJelly (me!) and is quite craptacular, but full of good information.

The sketch presentation was made by Sensei and is much better than mine.

NEW LINKS TO THE PRESENTATIONS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS THREAD! :)

Please do not re-distribute these without our express permission. The copies I have uploaded are for PERSONAL learning use only.

Rei, those were very nice ppt presentations! You and sensei did an excellent job! Very knowledgeable, I wonder if you could ask Jason or one of the mods at Rubberslug to have a permalink to the information section there. Excellent! :D :D

Those were really well done and very informative. A nice selection of cels and sketches were used for both presentations.

It would be nice to demonstrate this around the country at all the coventions that us Beta/RS members go to.

All of them?

Rei, is the version you posted the one I sent you on a CD or the one I uploaded to you just before Katsucon (which you didn't get in time?) Both are good :D but the latter is more up-to-date on recent CGI sketch work.

Remember, if you don't send me a free cel or sketch for each download, you incur bad karma, which contributes to global warming, celotape staining, and trace line fading.

S [who's too clever for his own or anyone else's good]

P.S. IMHO Rei's presentation is a great introduction to basic terms that many of us take for granted but often don't fully understand ourselves. Thanks!

Doggonit, it's still snowing outside! (Just like it was during Katsucon).

Sensei, the copy of your presentation is the current up-to-date one (with new PPGZ stuff in it)

Thank you! A note to anyone bold enough to download it: you'll need to click on the "View Slide Show" option to see the animations. Seen as thumbnails, some of the slides don't make a lot of sense, but if you watch them in full screen mode you'll see how I make one sketch dissolve into another or into a scan of the cel.

I had a lot of fun making this and thank Vampyreshoujo again (and again) for the reanimated dougas that got used in it.

Rei, your cels are prettier than mine, especially the drop-dead VHD items :bawl -- but thank you for sharing! :cheers

There shouldn't be any VHD cels in that presentation. Unless someone has been somehow screwing with the copy that I uploaded...

Sorry ... I've been looking at VHD cels lately, and since Madhouse did that and the X movie at about the same time, they used a similar approach, and I get the cels mixed up in my head. Anyhow, they are perty whatever they come from.

[Don't ask me to be lucid anytime from Tuesday noon to about Sunday evening this semester ... three classes in PA and a fourth in VA about 3 1/2 hours drive away... ]

There have been some people interested in these presentations, so I'm re-posting them. Keep in mind, these were made in 2007 and have not been updated since. Perhaps Sensei and I will edit them later...but I make no promises! :D Mine (the cel half) was also made using OpenOffice, so it may not translate quite properly when viewed with actual MS PowerPoint.
These files are large, so please be patient when downloading and opening them.
